ISSPCS Practitioner
Description
The ISSPCS Practitioner is a security certification that validates that the owner has knowledge and skills in IT Security.
The ISSPCS Practitioner is the entry level certification and needs to be completed before further certifications in this tree can be achieved. The other certifications available are:
- ISSPCS Professional;
- ISSPCS Mentor;
- ISSCPS Fellow;
This certification is maintained by The International Systems Security Professional Certification Scheme (ISSPCS).
Discussion
The ISSPCS Practitioner certification validates the owner's knowledge of information security.
The range of knowledge is broken down into the following:
- Security Theory;
- Infrastructure Security;
- Systems Security;
- Network Security;
- Physical Security;
- Personnel Security.
Certification Criteria:
To be considered certified, the following criteria must be satisfied:
- The candidate must pay an examination fee;
- The candidate must have an IT or related degree and 3 years of information security experience;
- The candidate must pass a closed-book exam with a score of 60% or greater.
The recertification cycle for this certification is three years.
